www.cnn.com/2016/10/02/politics/donald-trump-black-lives-matter-graffiti/index.htmlIn this article, it explains that Trump's new hotel in Washington DC was vandalized. "Black Lives Matter" and "No Justice No Peace" were spray painted on the front of the building on Saturday. Nobody knows for sure who vandalized the building yet. It was reported to the police around 4 pm on October 1st. It is said that the vandalism was a result of a racial remark made by Trump. Tensions also increased when Trump re-tweeted false statistics about crime committed by African Americans and compared "black inner cities" to Afghanistan. Hillary Clinton commented on the incident saying that Trump engages in racist activity and his supporters are mostly made up of racists. Police are still investigating the vandalism. If elected to the head of the executive branch, I think that lots more of incidents like this will occur more often and progressively get more violent. Trump does tend to make racial comments which are taken to extremes especially since racism has been such an issue. Trump needs to have a plan to try and end the conflicts instead of creating more.

It is stated in the article that fear of either candidate could be something that helps the other candidate. Trump supporters fear Clinton, and Clinton supporters fear Trump. More people fear Clinton as president and that could help Trump, but it also says that more people feel more comfortable with Clinton being president. According to the many polls in this article, it appears that neither candidate is above the other and it really could go either way. Everyone that voted wanted different things in a president, from being able to handle a crisis appropriately to someone who cares about people. It also says that 61% of voters believed that Clinton won the Monday debate vs. the 21% that thought Trump won. You can tell by the polls that people aren't really going to be okay with either outcome. Many people aren't okay with congress and many don't want the other candidate to win as president. It is going to be a either person could end up winning election.

This article talks about the vandalism to Trumps new hotel that has been open to the public for less then a month. People are saying the vandalism is due to Trump retweeting facts on twitter that were false crime stats about African Americans. It was taken racially and people reacted to his actions. It also says that Trump reacted to the theory that Barack Obama was born outside of the United States. People are saying that Trump has a long record of racist behavior, and even if it might be true, I believe that he needs to find a way to get that stereotype off of him if he wants to get more voters. There is a reason why the polls show that non-whites are voting towards Clinton, and I think if he could get rid of that stereotype, he would have a lot higher chance of winning the election.

After reading through the article, it is very evident that both candidates are unfavored among citizens all over the United States. The article states "Forty-one percent of registered voters think life for the next generation of Americans will be better than life today" (Blanton). This statement is very alarming because both candidates have clearly demonstrated their lack of skill to be in the presidential position. After watching the debate, it became more apparent how Hillary has taken the lead in this election. Additionally, I believe Hillary may be in a better place to take this position due to her experience with politics. Shortly after the debate, Trump released a few of his tax returns, showing that he could have avoided paying taxes for nearly 2 decades. Because of this, I believe that people, both supporters and non-supporters of Trump, have come to the realization that he may not be fit for this position, and it makes me curious to see the current percentage points of each candidate.

The article related to the vandalism done to Trump's new hotel has enhanced a public perception towards Trump which may have a huge affect on the number of voters he receives later on. There have currently been no arrests made for this situation. The news came out after a presidential contest and Trump has only "inflamed racial tensions by retweeting false crime statistics about African-Americans"(CNN). In my opinion, I don't think the right thing to do, would be to "inflame" the public. Trump needs to figure out how he can change people's minds about thinking he is racist or otherwise it might hurt him in the long run.

October 9, 2016 Presidential Debate Link: www.politico.com/news/2016-presidential-debates In this article, Kyle Cheney reports on the sudden twist in Trumps Republican supporters. This sudden even started when Paul Ryan decided to abandon Trump on his road to Presidency. Trump later responded saying that Ryan should, “spend more time on balancing the budget, jobs, and illegal immigration and not waste his time on fighting the Republican nominee”(Cheney 5). This is an outrageous statement on Trump’s part because if he continues to fight with fellow Republicans, he will eventually lose all voters and Hillary will become President. Trump also lost support when he brought up the Bill Clinton sex affair by bringing out 4 women that he victimized. This caused him to lose support because he had been advised not to do so by many of his fellow Republicans. Lastly, Trump also promised to jail Hillary Clinton due to all of her lies. This article refers to the differences in ideas of every person. Donald Trump has a very far right ideology and it is causing him to lose voters because most people identify as an independent. Both candidates are extreme on both sides so many people tend to get confused on whom to trust and vote for due to the fact that both parties are polar opposites and cannot agree on anything. It really shows how both of the candidates strong ideologies tend to push people away such as Paul Ryan. Ryan was pushed away by Trump because his ideas are too extreme and his code of conduct is not something he can agree with. In my opinion, if Trump continues the charade and continues to lose his supporters, he has no chance of beating Clinton. I do believe that if he can continue to point out flaws in Clinton’s theories, and he starts to portray himself in a better way, he may actually have a chance of beating her. I also find it outrageous that so many Republicans are leaving Trump this close to the election, and that the lack of support from them will guarantee Clinton's obnoxious victory.

Trump says his insulting remarks toward women were for 'entertainment' www.politico.com/story/2016/10/trump-women-insults-entertainment-229225 In the article, Nelson describes ways that Trump has used hurtful words against women. Trump tried to cover up his mistakes on Wednesday by saying it was only for the “purpose of humor”(Nelson). He explains that the comments he has made in the past do not reflect his true feelings on women. However, Nelson explains his "attacks on women have not been limited to his pre-political career"(Nelson). There have been numerous occasions where Trump has disregarded women, but he claims that no one has as much respect for women as he does. Trump told Fox News many hurtful comments regarding the Miss Universe Pageant and that took place the next day after the debate. The harsh, opinionated comments made by Trump were very disrespectful and embarrassing. Trump's mistakes have caused many things to be targeted at him such as Clinton’s presidential Ad. The ad has Trump's negative commentary in the background as the video shows images of little girls looking into mirrors. The emotional affect on the video ad makes the respect aspect Trump says he possess, hard for Americans to believe. Women’s rights should include respect with words and actions from others. Women shouldn’t be treated as if they are nothing or be insulted for the purpose of humor. Women deserve the same amount of respect as men hold. I think that the hurtful words Trump used against women will leave a lasting impression on him even if he tries to cover it up with humor. Humor to me, is when you make a situation lighthearted, and describing women in hurtful ways is not something I would consider to be lighthearted. The negative impact regarding Trump's insulting remarks will negatively affect him in the long run. In my opinion, I think Trump should just admit to his wrongdoing and apologize instead of resorting to saying his remarks were for humor because it is untruthful.

Republicans go on offense over Obamacare www.cnn.com/2016/10/25/politics/election-2016-obamacare/index.htmlThis topic of this article is the Affordable Care Act. The Affordable Care Act was put into place to help make healthcare more accessible for everyone. A big part of this was decreasing the cost of premiums. Statistics from this article show that the opposite has happened. Premiums have been increasing and are projected to continue to rise in the coming years. Republicans, including Trump, would like to see this repealed while Democrats and Hillary would like to see it continue. This relates to what we have been learning in class, as we have been talking about the differences between Republicans and Democrats. As Democrats tend to like to have more government in people's lives, such as Obamacare it is not a surprise that they are not afraid to spend money on it to be able to keep it. As on the other hand Republicans tend not to like having government in their lives. It's no surprise that the Republicans would be not willing to spend money on something that they do not agree with or do not want to keep going. In the long run if Trump gets into office there could be major changes to Obamacare, so there is not as much spending. If Clinton gets into office there could be more money added to Obamacare, and she could expand it due to the fact that she is in favor of it.

Taylors Current Event
With the rise of terrorist groups bringing in new harmful ways to hurt individuals, it is hard to determine if a random act is a terrorist works doing, or that of a lone individual. Blair Anderson, the senior policeman at St Cloud police department, declared that their was no correlation between ISIS and the man involved in the stabbings. Although this was a good thing, terrorists have been getting out of control and they need to be taken care of. That is one of the biggest things candidates for the presidential election should be worrying about because war is inevitable.

Tanner's current event The American people are going through a time getting ready to elect a new president. One of the things getting brought up is what will they do to change our nation. Many Americans want to change the Medicare act that has formed over the viewing of Obama. Insurance rates are raising and many Americans are mad with the fact that they have to pay for people. This is the reasoning that Clinton has been so quiet about the whole deal because she is in favor of it. If she becomes president more money will be added into the act. However if Trump becomes president, he will be getting rid of the whole act.

In response to Tanner Iverson current event The article suggests that Republicans are looking to take advantage of the fact that recent numbers were released to suggest that the affordable care act premiums will go up significantly in the next year. Like Tanner mentioned we have been learning about the political parties. Vice presidential candidate Mike Pence's stance on the republicans desire to repeal of the act fits in perfectly with the republican views when he suggested an alternative to Obama Care by stating that Republicans would back a system that included ,"free market principles and more consumer choice and health savings accounts." The article goes on to explain that Hillary Clinton is trying to keep quiet about the entire issue hoping that Trump loud mouth and offensive manner will secure the election for her with out dealing directly with this issue. It is pretty funny though that Bill Clinton was caught saying that Obama Care "was the craziest thing in the world"... Statements like that aren't going to help his wife's chances on Nov. 8th!

This article covers the many views and thoughts on Obamacare and what the future holds when it comes to medical insurance and plans. Statistics show that Obamacare is set to increase by 22% in the next year. It also states how the Republicans have been making sure to exploit the hikes in prices so that they can use it to their advantage. Pence and Trump want to replace the health care program with one that is more consumer choice and health savings account. Trump talks about how his employees have suffered from Obamacare in the past and that some of his employees aren't even on Obamacare. These hikes in prices of Obamacare could put a dent on Clinton's campaign, but there is a chance that it wont due to the fact that this is the number 5 most important thing to voters.

I think that this coming election should definitely be an interesting one. What jumped out to me is the fact that a large percentage of voters are voting out of fear. I don't think that it is a good thing for the country if voters are only voting so that the opposite candidate doesn't get in office. The fact that voters aren't voting for who they really want to be president makes me think that there is probably other people who are more fit for the job but just didn't campaign. I hope that everything is fine in the long run but it really makes me nervous that both candidates have so many flaws.

In response to Tanner's current event.
I think it is interesting how different events that happen during a campaign can give one candidate more of an edge over the other. Trump is using this recent event as an opportunity to talk about how he would get rid of the current system and replace it with a new one that in theory would work better for the nation. Hillary instead of trying to talk about what she would do to help the system, she is trying to avoid the topic and direct the conversation in the direction of Trump not being fit to be in office. However Hillary can't avoid the question all of the time. She said that she would try to fix the current system instead of tossing everything out and starting over again. This recent event could affect the results of the election surely making it one of the most interesting and entertaining ever.

In response to Tanner's current event.
I think this issue with Obamacare really shows the differences between the two candidates. Donald Trump tends to go head on with the issues that are brought to him. However, Hillary Clinton tends to avoid the issues. What's funny is, both candidates are being criticized no matter what they do about it. Hillary said she wants to stick with the current Obamacare, but fix the things that are broken with it. Trump wants to get rid of it in general and create a new one. Both of these candidates haven't said how they are going to fix it or what the new system will be like. I feel like this issue is something voters should know, but with only 9 days until the election, I don't believe we will get that answer.
