Response to Tanner's current event:
Like stated above, the article covers Obamacare and how the premiums for it are supposed to rise 22% in the next year. I think that a lot of people having health insurance is a positive because everyone should have coverage especially for health, but not if the costs of it are going to raise and put a strain on many average American families. Average families and families that struggle already have a lot on their plate, but making the wealthy and middle to upper families pay for it isn't right. Obamacare is expensive as it is. I also find it interesting and just ironic that Hillary is avoiding the subject and relying on the media to make Trump seem like the bad guy just like most cases. This election just needs to be over...

In response to Tanner's current event:
In my opinion I believe that the Obamacare fiasco helps Donald Trump immensely and that the increase of taxes will only cause even more people to vote for him. The fact that Hillary Clinton continually avoids the larger issues helps push people away from voting for her and then eventually voting for Trump because he addresses the issues. Both candidates are trying frantically to criticize each other but in doing so they have only made themselves look like fools. The fiasco Obamacare has caused will surely cause a shift in voter percentages.

Responds to Tanner:
The article shows that in the two nominees for this 2016 election have very different point of views. This idea applies to the idea of the beginning of the year stating in the constitution of freedom. The Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, support the Affordable Care, or also known as Obamacare. On the other hand, the Republican nominee, Donald Trump, wants to repeal the Affordable Care. Hillary did say "that there are problems with Obamacare — like any new law — that could be fixed with help from Congress." While some people will be willing to support this, other do not. In the article it states that premium has raised more since the Obamacare, making it a very disliked by many people. This lead the people to think that it would be better to vote for Trump because of this. Other also believe that even though Obamacare is bad, will repealing it fix the problem? At least Obama try. Like the article said, we wouldn't know what the Affordable Care future is until November 8 when the next president is elected.

In response to tanners: If Trump were to be elected I think he would try his hardest to get rid of Obamacare or to lower the premiums as much as possible. On the other hand Hilary Clinton would try to put more tax money into Obamacare. This isn't just the difference between Trump and Hillary, it is the difference between republicans and democrats. Hillary see's Obamacare as something that is making progress and wants to continue that. On the other hand Donald Trump thinks the premiums are to high and its a waste of government money. Both of the candidates don't really know how to fix the issue but there are definitely two different looks on the subject and should be interesting to see what happens with the issue.

In the article, Obamacare is sharply rising in pricing within the next year. This issue is a huge topic that separates the two candidates and truly divides the two parties. This has been a widely talked about issue at the debates and among the candidates themselves. Trump has been strongly opposed to Obamacare since the beginning of his campaign, and has stated he plans to repeal Obamacare as a whole if he becomes president. Clinton has said she would make some changes to Obamacare but only to improve it. This has been one of the very limited amounts of topics that each candidate has been willing to address. Generally dodging around the questions and topics at hand, it is a refreshing point when brought up to listen to each candidate explain their in depth opinions.

Clinton FBI investigation www.cnn.com/2016/10/30/politics/clinton-fbi-investigation-comey/index.htmlThis article is about the FBI finding more emails through hilarys servers this all started with a man named Anthony Weiner that was caught sending sexual messages to a 15 year old girl. So hilary and huma abedin went through Anthonys allegations which started on september 22nd but the FBI discovered abedin emails which went through hilarys servers this was enough evidence that the FBI would need to review the emails. The comey was notified about these emails by mid october so the comey decided the emails needed to be reviewed to see if they had anything to do with the investigation with Hilarys servers. 11 days after the presidential election comey informed the eight senate and house chairman anda email was going to be sent to congress about the emails. FBI discovered emails sent to or from abedin one of clintions longest serving and most trusted aides. I could see this situation hurting Hilary in the presidential election because of her being part of it and knowing that these emails where sent through her servers and i also want to know if this changes peoples opinion on Hilary not just a women running for president but as a person and also knowing that trump will use this situation to his advantage to bring people to his side my opinion his that this will hurt hilary but not a lot because trump hasnt done the greatest things either.

In Response to Tanners Current Event: In the article it says the GOP is trying to drive a wedge between Clinton's supporters and Obama's. When looking up more about Hillary's plans with the issue, she wants to protect Obama's legacy. She plans to by fixing the problems with Obamacare. This act could keep voters on the side of Hillary and make the GOP's attempts at hurting her campaign useless. Some Republicans like, Sen. Kelly Ayotte will even support the idea of Obamacare and protect the law; Even though her supporting it could tamper with her reelection. It will be challenging for Trump and the GOP to repeal Obamacare if people like Sen. Kelly support it. Although, this problem wouldn't hurt the election like Carney said on CNN's "New Day" on Tuesday. Obama who made the legislature even won reelection with Obamacare over the Democrats heads. It's definitely interesting to see how it could maybe sway some voters.

In reply to Tanner: If trump was elected president and wanted to get rid of Obamacare it might not be very easy for him to get rid of it because of the fact that congress would have to vote on it and i don't think he'd be able to get it passed to get rid of it. I also wonder if Clinton was elected what she'd want to change to Obamacare like she said she was going to. I'm also curious to see what trump would try to do with it if he wasn't able to get rid of it what else he would try to do or try to offer up instead of Obamacare.

In response to Derek's current event The main issue shown in the article is the violation of the hatch act, which bars federal agents from influencing politics in any way. It appears that FBI director James Comey may have broken this law by speaking of then new emails found that relate with ongoing Hillary Clinton investigation. Although his interests were not to influence the election in any way, as stated by current president Barack Obama, there may a slight affect in voters still undecided or not sure on who their voting for. There is no such evidence of this having any effect yet, as new polls have yet to come out at this time, but it is believed that there will be a slight bump for Trump in the polls. This event anger'd many government officials as it was breaking the law, and no actual new evidence was found yet, but was believed to be a "honest mistake". The effects from this event will tighten the race for president,in favor of Trump. This may or may not have a major impact on election day, but the nation will have to wait and see. This is a big election that will have a strong impact on the next 4 years.

Presidential Election Polls for November 6, 2016 www.newsweek.com/presidential-election-polls-november-6-2016-517617This article talks about the upcoming election and how it is becoming a tight race. Both of the candidates are staying extremely busy all the way up until election day. On Sunday trump was scheduled to visit Minnesota, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Iowa, while Hillary was set to speak in Ohio and New Hampshire. Hillary is leading in about all of the polls although her margin of victory has been slipping as of recent. Real Clear Politics projects that Hillary has a lead in "safe" electoral votes, however neither candidate has enough "safe" electoral votes to be considered a clear winner. Many electoral votes are still considered a toss up and could affect the election in a major way. We have talked about how certain events can help or hurt a candidate throughout their campaign all the way up until the end. The recents events involving obamacare has ultimately hurt Clinton and helped Trump in this election. Things like this have been happening throughout the whole election. Another example was the stabbings in a mall in Minnesota. The suspect was of middle eastern decent, thus strengthening Trumps argument on securing the borders. This entertaining election has definitely caused quite the stir all throughout the country. Personally I think Clinton will win this election just by looking at some of the poles. However this will be a tight race and I could very well be wrong. Both candidates have more going against them than we usually see in a presidential race so it makes me nervous seeing either candidate becoming president. I feel as though there are better fit people out there who should be in their positions that just didn't run for various reasons.

FBI Destroys Doors & Windows In Wrong-House Raid – And Then Refuses To Pay For Damages www.offthegridnews.com/current-events/fbi-destroys-doors-windows-in-wrong-house-raid-and-then-refuses-to-pay-for-damages/Thursday, November 3rd, at 6:00am, in Orange county, Florida, 40 members of the FBI and Orange county S.W.A.T team raided the house of Mr. Capps and his wife Cathy Rhude. The day before, Mr. Capps called the police for drug suspicious activity for the house next door. During This raid there were multiple windows smashed and broken, multiple doors that were knocked down and damaged, a television was broken, and a brand new $3,000 dollar floor was also damaged. As all of this was happening, Mr. Capps was trying to explain to them that they were raiding the wrong house. Turns out they were. The man they were looking for was living in the house next door and later arrested him. The problem with all of this is that the FBI and Orange county police told Mr. Capps and Cathy that they weren't giving them a dime to pay for any of the damage that was done to there home. The police and FBI's claim was that hey had a warrant to search their home. They told the owner's that they would have to make the necessary repairs first and then submit a reimbursement claim to the FBI. So the question becomes, who should pay for the damages done? Should the FBI have to pay for it? If so, how much of it?

In response to Jake's current event Donald John Trump was elected the 45th president of the United States on Tuesday in a stunning culmination of an explosive, populist and polarizing campaign that took relentless aim at the institutions and long-held ideals of American democracy. “Now it’s time for America to bind the wounds of division,” he said. “It is time for us to come together as one united people. It’s time.” That, he added, “is so important to me.” He offered unusually warm words for Mrs. Clinton, who he has suggested should be in jail, saying she was owed “a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country.” From the moment he entered the campaign, with a shocking set of claims that Mexican immigrants were rapists and criminals, Mr. Trump was widely underestimated as a candidate, first by his opponents for the Republican nomination and later by Mrs. Clinton, his Democratic rival. His rise was largely missed by polling organizations and data analysts. Now Trump is elected president.

Weekend brings more anti-Trump protests across nation www.cnn.com/2016/11/12/us/protests-elections-trump/index.html People began flooding onto the streets over the weekend in protest of the election results. These protests are taking place all across the nation from Los Angeles to Cincinnati and to many other places throughout the U.S. In New York, protesters stood outside of Trump Tower where Donald Trump lives and works chanting derogatory things such as "Donald Trump go away. Racist -- sexist -- anti-gay." Demonstrators even booed at people standing on balconies. Trump tweeted in response to the protests on Thursday saying that it's unfair that people are protesting his victory, but he still maintains confidence that the country will unite and be proud. This article relates to a lot of things that we have discussed in class such as how the election season works and how Trump's policies will affect the citizens of the U.S. down the road. I believe that the protesters should give Donald Trump a chance because you never know how his presidency may turn out. Hopefully soon, the protesters will realize that Trump will be the next President of the United States and that they should stand beside him because they don't have any other options.

NFL star sits during anthem in protest of President-elect Donald Trump www.cnn.com/2016/11/14/sport/mike-evans-donald-trump-tampa-bay-buccaneers-chicago-bears-colin-kaepernick/index.htmlIn this article, Matlas Grez discusses this weekend's top story around the sporting world relating back to the election. As protests have erupted in the streets around the country, it appears they have carried into the sporting world. Mike Evans, star wide-out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, sat during the singing of the National Anthem prior to Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. This is being related to the Colin Kaepernick situation, where the 49er's quarterback has been kneeling during the National Anthem before every game in protest of "the oppression of colored people." Mike Evans believes that the Trump candidacy was a joke the entire time and, "the joke continues." The country has never seen a reaction such as this past week to a presidential election. The reaction from the Hillary supporters and anti-Trump believers have become unlawful and outrageous. This past weekend's event could open the floodgates in the NFL and sporting world.

In reply to Austins current event
This years election has been the craziest and most eventful election in U.S History, having two candidates that aren't particularly best for the Presidential seat in the White House. But, I think that the way people are reacting is a little extreme. I don't think that riots and protests, or even people being shot should be happening over a Presidential election. People don't understand that we have a thing called checks and balances in our government. Yes, Trump will have power and a say in what we do as a nation, but people are so worried about all of his crazy policies and scared he is going to ruin the county, but they don't realize that it would have to go through Congress. Congress most likely will not deport a bunch of people or carry out any of the other unethical things Trump has said. Yes, it's okay for Democrats and a lot of other people to be upset, but there is a reason Hillary didn't win and people should just suck it up and deal with the fact that he is our president and there isn't anything that anyone can do to change it. Riots and protests are only making matters worse and he isn't even our President yet.
